An introduction to 'Lusciniam Montis'

july 4th 2017

Lusciniam Montis, I hope that one day someone will figure out the meaning behind these words. Luscinia is the Latin word for nightingale and Mont is (obviously) the Latin word for mountain. When conjugated properly, these words together should mean 'nightingale of the mountain'.

Luscinia, I remember seeing this word for the first time in one of my Latin classes in high school. It looked like such a beautiful word that bore some significance to me, personally, and therefore it stuck with me for many years.
Montis, which mountain would I be referring to? I hope to one day visit this mountain that I speak of, I was named after it after all. Sounds mysterious, no?

I am typing this blogpost, my first in 6 or so years, from the university library. I am currently avoiding the act of studying for my final finals. Thereafter, summer will be all mine. I have no 'vacation' plans as of yet, but I hope to do some sightseeing at the least and to maybe update you, my dear reader, on my little big adventures?
